I also popped down to Brighton's MADE '09 craft fair at the end of November where I bought these lovely Maxine Sutton notelets, love the compositions, and also bumped into Wolfran Lohr who is currently stocking some of my cards and is holding a sale on his beautiful handmade leather products this Saturday the 19th Dec. Very exciting and probably dangerous, I loved the invitation.
Brighton is such an amazing place to see different styles and ideas. Last weekend I dropped into a local craft fair at Komedia on the hunt for Christmas presents and fell in love with Saffron Reichenbacker's illustration style and use of bold colour. More of Saffron's work can be seen at www.saffronreichenbacker.co.uk
On a different note I happened to catch a bit of the mighty boosh last night and as ever very funny but I also loved the 70's patterns and crazy colours they use, brilliant!
Imagine how excited I was to see that the company I worked for 2 years before becoming freelance had animated some of the characters I created while I worked for them!! Above are the Tinkers and you can see more examples by following this link www.nopostie.com
I have been working on some more feminine designs the last few days and I have included an embroidery design that I finished earlier this year to the right.
These Christmas cards are available to buy at Love Frankie, 3 St Georges Road, Kemp Town, Brighton and also The Studio Shop, 15 Montpelier Place, Brighton in packs of 8. Or place an order with me at www.ilonadrewthis@hotmail.com!
I have been meaning to put these 2 posts on for ages, the heart was a gift from a friend when I first moved to Brighton from Mexico and I love the colours decorative elements and shiny bits! It was an influence for this design I produced at the beginning of the year, I love heavy embroidery and I intend to explore the idea further next year.
So last week I managed to catch up on some much needed creative time and developed these floral designs using photographs I have taken along the way. For further details about my designs re: prices etc please contact me at www.ilonadrewthis@hotmail.com.
So I have been away doing many things, holiday and also launching my wedding range! It got its first outing at the Stylish Events wedding fair on Sunday at the Brighton Metropole Hotel. The weather was a bit rubbish but still made tons of contacts and am looking forward to working on some exciting invites with some lovely people. You can currently view my designs at www.idrewthis.net
This week has been all about Christmas...fast approaching! These are 2 of my favourite designs and I could'nt resist popping the design onto some mugs.
On Sunday I helped my dear friend at Hope & Harlequin with a vintage fair at Battersea Arts Centre and I was thrilled to find this gorgeous and funky tea towel designed by Gordon Fraser for Brooke Bond OXO.
One of my first ranges of cards published and available to buy around Brighton at: The Studio Shop, Montpelier Place. Fullertons, Seven Dials. Love Frankie ( new and cool shop in Kemp Town) and the very stylish Hope & Harlequin, Sydney Street.
