Amazing!

This is the last game that I will post on the I Drew This blog all further illustrations will be posted straight onto www.flicknmix.blogspot.com.
I think you will agree this is amazing thanks to Dawn Machell of Pop-i-cok , Janine from Dilys treacle ( who was at the ladder club seminar I recently attended) and David from Custard Cards in Brighton for playing this week.
So next week I thought I would let the first person to let me know they would like to play decide on the theme...hmmm...who will it be...???

New blog.

Good morning I hope that you all have had lovely weekends, as you know I have started up what I was calling 'heads, shoulders, knees and toes' and we have already had 2 cool and quirky illustrations and I think it is such a fab game that I have started up a blog totally dedicated to it, I have renamed the blog flick'n'mix which is a bit easier to say and I have this week persuaded the lovely Dawn Machell from Pop-i-cok to play and the new theme is 'Butterflies', if you would like to put your work up against Dawn's let me know and I can send you further details :)

Number 2.

Oh wow I am loving this more and more, 5 o'clock this morning I woke up to discover the final piece from Moira and I nearly got up there and then to put them together I was so excited!
And how quirky is this weeks with my Dads geoscoperlous head, and a real fairy tale feel from both Steph at Ric Rac and Moira Millman, I love the ladybird shoes and desperately want a pair for Olive, just brilliant, thanks to all for playing and now just 3 more peeps for next weeks game...

My Dad.

This evening I thought I would post about my Dad who is taking part in this Fridays game, my Dad has always been an artist.
Dad left Newport College of Art in 1978 with a first class honours degree in Fine art where my mom also studied. From there he went onto the Slade School of Fine Art to complete his Masters degree. He exhibited regularly with Galerie Swart Amsterdam in 1980's and I have a vivid memory of standing next to him working on his geometric paintings wearing finger less gloves next to a mini heater.
That combined with my Moms work instilled in me my need to explore my own creativity.
My dad now lives in Majorca and has recently begun 2 of his own blogs Memobench, inspired by benches filled with memories for so many and Geoscoperlous born from his interest in seeing quirky images within nature.
Above are 2 of my favourite paintings I am lucky enough to own. Thanks Dad x

Ladder club seminar.

Last Thursday I went to Southend to attend the Ladder Club seminar organised by Lynn Tait of the Lynn Tait gallery. There were a number of speakers from the industry starting with the sucessful owners of Paper Salad and followed by Jeremy Corner from Blue eyed sun, Lynn Tait, Sharon Little from the GCA, Jakki Brown from Progressive Greetings magazine and lots more!
The day was jam packed full of information about how to start up and
I would highly recommend the seminar to those thinking of branching out.
